Nika Brunet Milunovic
Speaker Bio: Founder of Calm Nest Collective. Having spent 7 years in corporate roles and over 11 years managing everything from international festivals to sustainability programs in the events industry, I realised workplaces and events desperately needed spaces supporting neurodiversity and genuine wellbeing. So I created a consultancy designing sensory-friendly quiet rooms for conferences and calm corners for offices, helping organisers deliver practical inclusion. Trained social worker currently pursuing a PhD examining mental health and neurodiversity within live events.
Title of your talk: Sensory Spaces: Inclusive Wellbeing Design
Seminar Description: 25% of the population is neurodiverse, with sensory processing challenges that trigger overwhelm in typical workplaces and events. Research shows sensory-friendly interventions, quiet rooms, dimmable lighting, soft furnishings, biophilic design elements and more, reduce stress responses by 40% in affected individuals. Drawing from my PhD research and 11 years in working in events, plus 7 years in corporate, I'll share the evidence-based design principles, implementation case studies, and longitudinal data showing 27% lower absenteeism. You'll leave with validated blueprints for immediate application.
